Ukraine handed over 70 collaborators to Russia

As part of the '1000 for 1000' exchange, Ukraine handed over 70 collaborators to Russia. This was reported by the state project 'I want to be with my own', according to 'Glavkom'.

Thus, 70 collaborators left for the Russian Federation while dozens of Ukrainian civilian hostages were returned from captivity, who had been illegally held by the Russian authorities for years.

There are profiles of 70 collaborators who went to Russia on the website. Some have been waiting for an exchange for almost a year, while others for several months. Mostly, all the men and women were convicted under such articles as: Article 111 - responsibility for state treason, and Article 114 - dissemination of information about the deployment or placement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under conditions of martial law or a state of emergency.

Implementation of the 'I want to be with my own' project

The project 'I want to be with my own' is implemented by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War with the support of GUR MO, SBU, and the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.

We remind you that today 390 Ukrainians returned from Russian captivity. This is the first stage of the '1000 for 1000' exchange. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to a statement by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Today's exchange is already the sixth this year and the 65th since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Among those released from captivity are civilians, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the Navy, Airborne Assault Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, as well as the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

According to the President, the agreement on the release of 1000 Ukrainians from Russian captivity became 'perhaps the only real result of the meeting in Turkey'. The head of state emphasized that one of Ukraine's key tasks is to bring all our people back from Russian captivity.

Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia took place in Istanbul. European leaders expressed their position regarding Russia during the negotiations in Istanbul. Politicians note that it is Russia that is slowing down the ceasefire process.

Analyzing the material, we see that the '1000 for 1000' exchange continues, and the number of released from captivity is increasing. Ukraine's efforts on the international stage to return compatriots from Russian captivity are showing positive results. For our state, this is an important step towards resolving the conflict in Donbas.
