Ukraine and the USA cannot agree on the terms of the peace deal: CNN learned the reasons.

Ukraine and the USA are struggling to find common ground on the terms of the peace deal
According to the American television channel CNN, Ukraine and the USA have serious differences regarding the terms of the peace agreement. A source close to the Ukrainian government and familiar with both plans to end the war reported this.
The main problematic issues between Washington and Kyiv are security guarantees for Ukraine and the US approach to the status of Crimea. Ukraine wants security guarantees from its European partners and the United States, despite the initial US position regarding guarantees from Europe.
“The proposed American idea to acknowledge Russian control over Crimea causes significant rejection”
Ukraine also insists on discussing the status of the territories that were seized by Russia after the invasion in 2022. The counter-proposal from the Ukrainian side has received support from France, Great Britain, and Germany, and was passed to the chief representative of the US president in Ukraine.
Ukraine is agreeable to a gradual lifting of sanctions against Russia, abandoning NATO membership, freezing the frontline, and restoring Ukrainian control over the territories near the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. However, the parties have not yet reached a full understanding, and the Ukrainian compromise is assessed as significant.
“For Ukraine, the desire to engage in discussions about the territories is a huge concession, but if Trump does not consider it significant, that’s a problem”
Ukrainian President Zelensky announced important negotiations.
