Father of three children did not appear at the military enlistment office — how the court punished him.

In the Odessa region, a man with three children refused mobilization after receiving a summons and was punished by the court for this.
Case details
The man passed the military commission in July 2024, after which he was issued a 'combat' summons. However, he did not show up for departure to the military unit.
During the trial, the man admitted his guilt, explaining that he was busy with many matters and has three children to support, two of whom are minors. He also noted that he has a 'deferment' until December 2025 and works as an assistant.
Court decision
The court decided to punish the man under Article 336 of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment.
It should be noted that recently in the Poltava region another conscript evaded military service and was brought to criminal responsibility, while a man in Kharkiv attempted to bribe officials at the military enlistment office to obtain a deferment from mobilization.
The court in the Odessa region sentenced the man to 3 years of imprisonment for evading mobilization due to his role in raising three children and his desire to work. This case is just one of many violations of military legislation in Ukraine, highlighting the importance of adhering to the laws of the country amid rising tensions in the east.
