"Energoatom" commented on the rumors about the accident at the South Ukrainian NPP.

Identified issues at the South Ukrainian NPP
In the operation of one of the power units of the South Ukrainian NPP, an issue was identified, so the unit was unloaded to 33% of its nominal capacity. This was reported by the press service of the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company "Energoatom".
In order to stop the spread of false information about the alleged accident at the South Ukrainian NPP, "Energoatom" reports: An issue was identified in the operation of one of the station's power units, after which it was unloaded.”
The company "Energoatom" states that the issue will be resolved after specialists from NEC "Ukrenergo" restore the damaged lines and ensure the possibility of power output. The company also emphasizes that the event is not related to the repair campaign.
The specified situation arose due to complex transitional modes caused by enemy shelling of Ukrenergo's infrastructure, and was accompanied by significant fluctuations in network parameters (frequency, voltage, current), to which the power units were connected, with the disconnection of the power units from the network.”
It was previously reported that a block at the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant had failed. This caused a sharp increase in the volume of power outages in Ukraine.
The director of the Energy Research Center, Oleksandr Kharchenko, stated that he retracted forecasts for the normalization of power supply. He also noted that "it is still not possible to predict surprises from Energoatom".
President Zelensky stated the need to protect Ukraine's energy facilities at different levels. He emphasized the importance of keeping protection details secret from the enemy and expressed dissatisfaction with energy publicity.
