It is worth radically changing the attitude towards the war. A Hero of Ukraine gives advice to citizens.

Against the backdrop of public statements by American officials about a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, active discussions have started among various segments of the population. Most agree that the Russian leader Vladimir Putin has no intention of adhering to peace and plans to use the agreement to develop his armed forces. This was reported by Major Vitaliy Lytvyn, commander of the artillery reconnaissance of the National Guard of Ukraine and a Hero of Ukraine, in an interview for Ukrainian press services.
«Honestly, I do not understand how this can bring positive results. The enemy will use this to their advantage 100%. Armed formations of Russia on the Pokrovsk direction, for example, prepared for two weeks, and now they will have almost a month and two weeks. This is dangerous,» Lytvyn stated.
Lytvyn also does not understand who exactly spreads such statements in Telegram channels, while Russia itself sets conditions prohibiting Ukraine from conducting mobilization and providing weapons, while their military-industrial complex continues to operate. He also believes that the Ukrainian people need to change their attitude towards the war and political statements and stop tying themselves to dates: the US presidential elections, the inauguration or meetings in Jeddah, as life consists of many events and periods.
«I have already formulated my opinion: we have our own struggle, and we need to go our way. This struggle will last for many years. It will have its stages: ATO, OOS, full-scale aggression, and then there will be periods similar to «ceasefires» - at sea, on land, regarding strikes on critical infrastructure. But the enemy will use this. Russia will not disappear, and in the future will continue to threaten us culturally, politically, and territorially,» emphasized Vitaliy Lytvyn.
Throughout the war since 2014, Lytvyn has captured several Russians, and he claims that their imperialist views have not changed. They still consider Ukrainians a threat to themselves, and Ukraine - «malorossiya», and the Ukrainian language - «void» and a dialect of the Russian language.
Lytvyn has witnessed dozens of ceasefires in the east, including school ceasefires, Christmas ceasefires, general ceasefires, and others.
«Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE monitored us every night. Approaching 2016, I remember they flew on large copters that look like helicopters and observed. We and the enemy heard them; they reported when they flew by. There were many defensive battles, conflicts, and if you look at the chronology, you can see how many of our servicemen and servicewomen have died,» recalls Vitaliy Lytvyn.
He adds that they had the opportunity to respond «with fire for fire». But even during any ceasefires, the enemy still used any types of weapons, although on a smaller scale than now.
The press secretary of the President of Russia explained under what conditions Putin would support a ceasefire. Peskov stated that Russia, at the end of the war, «must protect its interests.»
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte accused Russia of dragging out negotiations. He emphasized that Russia should demonstrate readiness to end the war in Ukraine, but the process is still ongoing.
The President of Ukraine commented on statements about peace negotiations in the context of recent events, asking: «How can one negotiate with those who shoot ballistic missiles?» Zelensky noted that for successful peace negotiations, the Russians must stop the killings.
