In Ukraine, the indicator for pension calculation has changed: what salary is now taken into account.


The salary for pension calculation in Ukraine has increased by 4 thousand hryvnias.
This information was released by the Pension Fund of Ukraine, reports 'Khvylia'.
According to the PFU, the average salary in March 2025 was 19,430.52 hryvnias. This indicator is used for calculating pensions. Compared to March 2024, the salary increased by 25.9%, or by 3,996.54 hryvnias (it was 15,433.98 hryvnias).
Previously, this data was published once a quarter, but now it is updated monthly. This information is also used for deferment from mobilization.
At the beginning of 2025, there was also an increase in the average salary: in January it was 18,660.32 hryvnias (an increase of 24.6%), and in February - 18,589.38 hryvnias (an increase of 21.8%).
The Pension Fund of Ukraine also approved the average salary indicator for the entire year of 2024, which was used for pension indexing from March 1, 2025.
According to the PFU, the average salary in 2024 was:
- January - 14,974.56 hryvnias
- February - 15,267.60 hryvnias
- March - 15,433.98 hryvnias
- April - 16,847.98 hryvnias
- May - 17,178.87 hryvnias
- June - 18,806.63 hryvnias
- July - 17,346.90 hryvnias
- August - 17,001.36 hryvnias
- September - 18,020.86 hryvnias
- October - 18,704.98 hryvnias
- November - 18,823.31 hryvnias
- December - 21,698.99 hryvnias
- Average for the year - 17,486.60 hryvnias.
Thus, the average salary in 2024 was 22.2% higher than in 2023 (14,308.46 hryvnias).
The PFU also explained the possibility for internally displaced persons to change banks for receiving pensions.
