Ukrainians will be able to see a solar eclipse on March 29: list of cities.

Rare solar eclipse will occur on Saturday, March 29
On Saturday, March 29, a rare solar eclipse will take place in Ukraine. This event will be observable. This was reported by 'Hlavkom'.
Residents of the Northern Hemisphere will be able to see a partial solar eclipse. It will occur at the new moon when Earth's satellite partially covers the Sun, creating an impressive visual effect known as 'Devil's Horns'.
This partial solar eclipse is part of a series that lasts 18 years. While it is not as striking as total solar eclipses, it does attract the attention of observers.
The eclipse can be seen in Ukraine between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM Kyiv Time. It will be most visible in the Volyn region, where the Sun will be covered by 11%. In the Lviv region, the eclipse phase will be 6.7%, in Transcarpathia - 6.2%, in the Ternopil region - 4%. It can also be observed in Lutsk, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv.
The deepest phase of the eclipse - 93.8% - is expected in Canada, near the Ungava Peninsula. There, the Moon will cover the largest part of the solar disc, creating a twilight effect.
This time, what will be special about the eclipse is that the supermoon will coincide with the new moon - the phase when its night side is completely covered by the face of the Earth. Therefore, the Moon will be invisible to observers, except in places with minimal artificial lighting.
Supermoons occur due to changes in the distance between the Earth and the Moon. Usually, this distance is 384,400 km, but sometimes the Moon approaches 363,396 km (perigee) or moves away to 405,504 km (apogee) due to its elliptical orbit.
Although there are 12-13 perigees each year, not all of them are accompanied by a supermoon. This term is used to denote new moons or full moons that occur at perigee. In 2025, there will be five new supermoons, although they are difficult to observe since the Moon does not reflect sunlight during the new moon.
Let us remind you that on the night of March 13-14, a total lunar eclipse could be observed in Ukraine. The first photos of the 'blood moon' illuminating the night sky of the capital have already appeared online.
