Ukraine will participate in the International Book Fair in Spain for the first time.


One of the largest book fairs in the world will take place in Barcelona from October 1 to 3. Ukraine is participating in this event for the first Time. This was reported by the press service of «Frontera».
This year's book fair will feature more than 350 publishers and companies, as well as products and services related to publishing marketing and distribution. Conferences are also planned, where the current situation in the book industry will be discussed, the press service notes.
«This year Ukraine will participate in «Liber» for the first time. Throughout all the days of the fair, there will be a national stand here (hall 2, stand C155). 13 Ukrainian publishing houses will present their books to professional visitors from 65 countries», – the message says.
According to Oleh Hrabovetsky, consul of the General Consulate of Ukraine in Barcelona, it is important that in this historic time for our country, the Ukrainian word is heard in different languages on all continents.
«Understanding Ukrainian perseverance, desire for freedom, and belief in victory can be achieved, in particular, by discovering the best examples of our literary heritage. This goal will also be supported by a series of organized panel discussions with the participation of Ukrainian, Spanish, and European intellectuals, dedicated to both the current state of the publishing industry in Ukraine, and the establishment of direct contacts, the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, and finding common ground between Ukraine and Spain at European crossroads», – said the consul general.
