In Spain and Portugal, the restoration of electricity supply begins after a massive outage. Over 750 thousand consumers in Portugal have received electricity, and the substations supplying power to Lisbon are operational again. All substations in the Porto region have also resumed work. In Spain, over 35% of electricity consumption has been provided, and 51% of substations are functioning. Electricity supply has been partially restored in the regions of Catalonia, Aragon, the Basque Country, Galicia, La Rioja, Asturias, Navarra, Castile and Leon, Extremadura, and Andalusia.

Videos that have appeared online show people rejoicing at the return of electricity supply.

The governments of both countries are urging the population to stay at home, limit the use of cars and mobile networks, and rely only on official sources of information. Full restoration of electricity supply is expected in the coming hours or days.

Earlier, the power outage, caused by a rare atmospheric phenomenon, affected Spain and Portugal. Ukraine's Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, stated that Ukraine is ready to assist in restoring the stable operation of energy networks of European partners, considering the significant experience of Ukrainian specialists in this field.
