The military commissariats are targeting this category for conscription: even 50-year-olds are recognized by the criteria and will be taken.

Mobilization and Military Experience
Ukraine continues to mobilize men over the age of 50. However, this does not mean that everyone is automatically subject to conscription. Unlike the purely age criterion, health condition and military experience are decisive. Lawyer Roman Simutin explained that special attention is paid to individuals with scarce specialties, such as communicators.
Military experience is also important. Men who have served in the military or have the relevant specialty may be directed to military units where they are needed the most. However, individuals without military experience are initially provided training, after which they are assigned according to needs.
“Men over the age of 50 are not assigned to assault units. They can work in the fields of communication, security, medical assistance, or logistics,”emphasized the lawyer. Some of them may also be involved in work at defense enterprises.
“Mobilization at this age occurs on general grounds. However, if there is a conclusion from the military medical commission regarding limited fitness, the likelihood of service decreases,”- emphasized Roman Simutin.
Thus, military experience and health condition, not just age, determine whether a man will be mobilized into the army in Ukraine.
