Property Insurance from 'Shaheds' — Who Is Not Allowed.

With military actions taking place in Ukraine, more and more people are interested in insuring their property. Ukrainian insurance companies offer protection against war-related risks, such as damage from explosions, missile strikes, and even drones.
The General Director of the 'Insurance Business' Association, Vyacheslav Chernyakhovsky, shared with Novyny.LIVE what to pay attention to when insuring against war risks and what rights clients have.
Most insurance companies in Ukraine already have packages that provide for compensation for losses due to military aggression. According to experts, as of today, war risks are an integral part of the standard insurance package, as important as fire or water risks.
Both full insurance packages and specific components, such as windows and balconies, are available for protection. A special advantage is the possibility to arrange insurance online without visiting the insurance company's office.
Costs of Housing Insurance from Drones and Missiles
The cost of insurance depends on the area of the property, the type of real estate, and risks. For example, protection for windows and balconies costs an average of up to 1,500 hryvnias per year.
It was noted that a significant portion of the cost is determined by the chosen amount of insurance, which must correspond to the price of the property.
Who Cannot Insure Property Against War Risks
Unfortunately, there are real estate objects that cannot be insured against military risks. These include cities in frontline areas or in high-risk zones. According to experts, without state support, insurance in these areas is impossible, thus national insurance programs with government support need to be implemented.
In connection with the increase in military actions in Ukraine, property insurance against war risks is becoming increasingly relevant. Ukrainian insurance companies offer a wide range of services covering compensation for damages related to military events. It is important not only to have such policies but also to consider the accounting value of the property for which they are issued, as this affects the cost of insurance. It is also important to pay attention to the fact that there are restrictions on insuring properties in frontline territories, for which special programs and state support are necessary.
