The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom spoke with the President of the United States
Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, had a phone call with Donald Trump, the President of the United States.
Keir Starmer thanked Trump for his role in achieving a historic ceasefire and a hostage agreement in Gaza. The president also welcomed the release of Emily Damari and sent best wishes to her family. The UK government reported that they discussed the importance of cooperation for security in the Middle East.
The conversation also touched on trade and the economy, and the Prime Minister talked about deregulation that would promote growth.
'The leaders emphasized the importance of close and warm ties between the United Kingdom and the USA, and the president expressed his respect and commitment to the royal family,' it was noted in the post.
The parties agreed to a prompt meeting and look forward to further discussions.
