The Seym River was polluted in Russia: The Ministry of Environmental Protection revealed the details.

The Seym River was polluted on the territory of Russia, but it is not known whether it was intentional or accidental pollution. This was reported by Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi, the first deputy minister of environmental protection of Ukraine, during a TV marathon.
According to him, the Seym River is completely polluted, but the analyses show the detection of only organic substances, no chemical or toxic substances have been detected.
Experts believe that the pollution was caused by the actions of a certain factory. Measures are currently being taken to localize it.
«The amount of organic matter we detected may be caused by a distillery or another factory on the territory of Russia», - said the deputy minister.
Laboratory analyses showed that the water contains a lot of organic substances, so it is difficult to predict how long it will take to clean the river.
«The organic substances that entered the water consume oxygen, resulting in the water containing very little oxygen. This leads to the death of water resources and fish», - explained the representative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
Recall, experts are already conducting measures to localize organic pollution on the Desna River in the Chernihiv region, which originated from the Seym River. This was reported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
As previously noted, since August 14, mass fish die-offs and water pollution have been recorded along the banks of the Seym River in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Local residents are prohibited from swimming in the river, and the State Environmental Inspectorate and the State Fisheries Agency suggest that dirty water got into the Seym from the Kursk region.
