We honor the memory of the fallen soldier Kostyantyn Kozak
On April 7, 2025, soldier Kostyantyn Kozak, a defender of Ukraine, died near the village of Ryzhivka in the Sumy region. This was reported by the Kostiopil City Council referring to 'Glavcom'.
Kostyantyn Kozak was born on May 4, 1970, in Kostiopil. He attended school No. 4 and later the Kostiopil Vocational Technical School. After graduating, he worked at a house-building plant and as a driver of heavy trucks, transporting goods over long distances.
In June 2024, Kostyantyn Kozak was drafted into military service. He completed training at a military training ground and then served as a driver of a shooting platoon at the front. He was in Donetsk and later transferred to Sumy.
Regarding his service, Kostyantyn Kozak did not tell much to his wife. His wife Larysa Ivanivna said that he was thoughtful and caring, a true support for the family.
'My husband was thoughtful, caring, a true support of our family. We raised a daughter, our grandson is already five years old. It is very difficult for me to realize that he is no longer here,' said Larysa Ivanivna.
Kostyantyn Kozak was honored at the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Kostiopil. Relatives, friends, colleagues, city officials, and priests said goodbye to him in Shevchenko Square.
Kostyantyn Kozak was buried on April 10, 2025, at the 'Nove' cemetery in Kostiopil.

We light candles of remembrance and bow our heads during a national minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state. Today we remember the fallen Ukrainian soldiers, civilians, and children who laid down their lives on the altar of patriotism in the struggle against Russian occupiers and during enemy attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages.
