Detained on suspicion of attempting to assassinate former US president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump, Ryan Wesley Ruth expressed support for Ukraine on social media after Russia's invasion. According to CNN, Ruth in his Facebook posts expressed strong support for Ukraine and called on foreigners to participate in the war on Ukraine's side. He called himself the 'unofficial liaison' of the Ukrainian authorities and encouraged soldiers from Afghanistan to fight for Ukraine. Following a shooting at a golf course near Trump, intelligence agencies, including the FBI, are investigating a possible assassination attempt on Trump. US President Joe Biden praised the work of the Secret Service and law enforcement after the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump and expressed relief that Trump was unharmed.
