New Foreign Passport in Poland: How to Maintain PESEL UKR Status.

Ukrainians residing in Poland and having received a PESEL UKR number need to know about an important procedure after receiving a new foreign passport. After making a new document for themselves or their children, they need to go to the city or commune administration where citizens are given PESEL numbers.
This is reminded by the portal YаVP.pl.
It is noted that this procedure is extremely important because, upon receiving a new foreign passport in Poland, it is necessary to update the information in the PESEL UKR registry. The essence of the process is that the new foreign passport must be linked to the PESEL UKR status. This means that the series, number, and expiration date of the new passport are entered into the system.
Such an update is necessary to confirm that the person is using temporary protection in Poland. If the information in the PESEL UKR registry is not updated, it could cause problems with using the Diia.pl application. The data in the app will no longer match the information in the new foreign passport, making it outdated.
This is especially important for those who rely on digital tools in their daily lives in Poland. Diia.pl is a key application for many Ukrainians residing in the country, so keeping it up to date is critically important.
The data update procedure is not complicated but requires a personal visit to the relevant institution. It is recommended not to delay this process and to go to the administration immediately after receiving the new passport. This will help avoid potential problems with identification and status confirmation in the future.
Earlier, Ukrainians in Poland were also told about the reasons for the annulment of the PESEL UKR status.
