Germany may introduce military preparedness lessons in schools.

The German Ministry of the Interior supports the preparation of school students for possible crises and military actions. To this end, courses on 'first aid with elements of self-defense' are being introduced. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Deutsche Welle.
According to a representative of the German Ministry of the Interior, Maximilian Kall, recent events in the security sector require greater attention to civil defense, particularly in school education. Various threats such as bad weather, energy outages, fires, cyberattacks, and hybrid threats create a wide range of risks. For this reason, it is important to engage the public in this issue.
The German Ministry of the Interior noted that it does not intend to interfere with educational programs, as this is the competence of state governments.
According to the Bundeswehr and German intelligence, a Russian attack on NATO territory is a realistic scenario in the future, within the next 4-7 years.
In March of this year, the European Union published a document 'Readiness Strategy', which called on national governments to take measures to better prepare citizens for possible crises, ranging from forest fires and industrial accidents to armed conflicts.
It was previously reported that Germany is preparing a defense plan in the event of a possible Russian invasion of NATO countries. The Bundeswehr is planning for the worst-case scenario according to the 'Operational Plan Germany'. The first version of the strategic document consists of 1,000 pages, and its details are classified.
