Naturalist, prop master, and wig maker: the rarest professions in Ukraine.


The Employment Service reported that last year, very rare professions appeared in Ukraine, such as chimney sweeper, sorter of unwashed wool, city hall clockmaker, and mirror painter.
The most sought-after on the labor market were builders, plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, welders, and other skilled workers.
Yeast Culture Operator
There were only 12 vacancies. Operators cultivate, feed, and grow yeast, control the temperature and humidity in the surrounding environment, collect and load them into fermentation tanks. They also take samples, distribute doses, and release yeast for production.
Piano and Grand Piano Tuner
There were 5 vacancies. Employers require precise tuning of pianos and grand pianos to standard pitch using a tuning fork, troubleshooting, and restoration.
Halva Maker
There were 4 vacancies. Specialists prepare Eastern desserts from nuts and sugar, control the mixing process, and create structure.
Naturalist
There were 4 vacancies. Requirements include physical appearance, ability to demonstrate poses, and stand still.
Prop Master
There were 3 vacancies. Masters create sketches and make models for theaters, films, and art studios.
Wig Maker
There were only 2 vacancies. Specialists create wigs, hair, eyebrows, mustaches, and beards for theater, film, and the fashion industry.
Embryologist
There was only one vacancy. A specialist in reproductive medicine who helps create new life.
There is also demand in the labor market for electricians, seamstresses, plumbing locksmiths, and electric gas welders. The greatest shortage is observed in technical and working professions. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy Tetiana Berezhna.
President of the Confederation of Employers Oleksii Miroshnychenko noted that young people are increasingly losing interest in technical and working professions, which creates a disbalance in the labor market. By 2025, Ukraine will face a shortage of more than half a million qualified workers, which will be a serious challenge for the country's economy.
