Kim Jong Un executed officials after deadly flood in North Korea — Media.


According to Bloomberg, several officials were executed in North Korea after a massive flood that occurred in late July and took the lives of thousands of people. According to TV Chosun, 20 to 30 regional officials were executed in the affected region. Officially, several thousand people died as a result of the flood. The South Korean intelligence service reported that it is monitoring the situation after receiving intelligence related to these events. In turn, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un declared that he would punish those responsible for the flood victims. The rains caused significant destruction and damage in the region.
According to North Korean state media reports, the rains damaged thousands of homes, roads, railway tracks, and agricultural lands. Several thousand people were rescued from the flood, but the bodies of the deceased were discovered during ground clearing operations. The damage from the flood was most strongly felt in the Chagang province, bordering China.
