Kyiv residents are outraged by the sharp rise in maintenance fees for apartment buildings.

In March, Kyiv residents received bills for the maintenance of apartment buildings with increased rates. The cost of such services has nearly doubled, and residents have to pay between 600 to 900 hryvnias per apartment.
However, the quality of service leaves much to be desired. In many buildings where prices were raised, elevators are not working, and repairs have not been carried out for years.
According to one of the residents, such rates are unacceptable as the building needs repair and no one is taking any steps to carry it out.
'We were shocked when we saw the new bills. Why are we paying such money if everything in the building breaks down and no one repairs anything?'
Such rates were proposed by the municipal enterprise 'Managing Company for the Maintenance of the Housing Fund of the Desnyansky District of Kyiv', which incidentally became the sole participant in the tender for such services.
It is worth noting that residents have the right to change the manager if they are not satisfied with their work. However, for this, it is necessary to hold a meeting of co-owners, adopt a relevant decision, and notify the manager in writing about the termination of the contract.
In case of refusal of the manager's services, one can look for another company or create a homeowners’ association (H.О.А).
