ISW analyzed the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kursk.

Ukrainian forces are continuing their operation in Russia's Kursk region and are achieving success in several directions, reports the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to Russian military bloggers, Ukrainian units have advanced in the southern part of the settlement of Ruska Konopelka, located east of the city of Sudzha, and also north of Martynivka, along the R-200 Sudzha-Sukhodolivka highway, over the past 24 hours.
It is noted that information about fighting east of Sudzha, in the area of the settlements of Samoryadovo and Kozyrivka, is contradictory. Likely, mobile groups of Ukrainian military can move in this area.
Russian military bloggers also report an attempted Ukrainian mechanized attack near Oleksandrivka, which took place northeast of Korenyovo. This attack, according to their information, was repelled by Russian forces. It is also reported that on August 23, Russian units reoccupied positions west of Korenyovo that had been previously abandoned.
Recall, Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh stated that the U.S. "better understands" Ukraine's goals in the Kursk region. She emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attempting to create a buffer zone in this region and confirmed that the U.S. continues to provide material support to Ukraine on the battlefield.
