The current conditions for supporting green energy are set to last until 2030 – Razumkov Center.

The conditions for supporting green energy will remain in effect until 2030 to provide predictability for investors. This was announced by Volodymyr Omelyanenko, director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center. He noted that this issue was discussed at a meeting of market participants.
«In the conditions of war, a radical change in the mechanism for supporting the renewable energy sector is unacceptable», - said Omelyanenko».
According to the roadmap, the transition to new mechanisms should be balanced and gradual. Therefore, the meeting participants supported the decision to separate the renewable energy surcharge from the transmission tariff of «Ukrenergo» starting from 2030. There was also surprise regarding the idea of indicating the cost of supporting the renewable energy sector and separating the surcharge for new projects.
«Such an approach may lead to misunderstandings and worsen payment discipline», - noted Omelyanenko».
Changes to the support mechanism for new renewable energy facilities also came as a surprise to many. The implementation of these changes in 2025 may threaten scheduled auctions. Omelyanenko believes a transition period is necessary for such changes.
According to the data from the State Enterprise «Guaranteed Buyer», the debt of «Ukrenergo» to investors in green energy amounts to UAH 22.1 billion, with a significant portion of this debt not being repaid for the year 2022.
