Remote Learning in a New Way: How Online Lessons for Ukrainian Schoolchildren Will Change.


According to the information from the Kyiv regional military administration, the Ministry of Education and Science has made changes to the regulatory documents concerning distance learning during the war. These changes are recorded in orders No. 1112 and No. 1115.
The Ministry is implementing innovations within the framework of the 'Offline School' concept, which aims to provide accessible quality education for students in all regions of Ukraine. These changes are focused on individualizing learning and taking into account the characteristics of each region, especially those bordering the front line or the border.
During the development of solutions, we considered public feedback and regional specifics. The Ministry of Education and Science begins to inform about the upcoming changes; these regulations will officially come into force after being approved by the Ministry of Justice.
Main Changes in Distance Learning
- Distance classes must have at least 20 students, although this number can be reduced for schools in combat zones, in temporarily occupied territories, or in rural areas.
- The educational institution can switch to a distance mode if it has no more than two parallel classes.
- In distance classes with Ukrainian studies subjects, children will learn according to a unified program, which will allow for better organization of learning for students in different territories and conditions.
It is important to note that Poland demands restrictions on the acceptance of Ukrainian students.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has made changes to regulatory documents that govern distance learning in wartime conditions. Innovations are aimed at improving the learning process and taking into account the specifics of different regions of the country. In particular, there is a provision for reducing the number of students in distance classes for schools in conflict zones and a unified program for teaching Ukrainian studies subjects. This way, the impact of the war on the learning process is minimized and quality education is ensured for all students in the country.
