On the last day of the 2024/2025 season in the Ukrainian U-19 football championship, the players of Kyiv's 'Dynamo' won the gold medals under the guidance of Ihor Kostiuk. This is already the seventh title for 'Dynamo' in this tournament, which the UPL has been conducting since 2012. Previously, 'Shakhtar' claimed two victories, while 'Metalist' and 'Rukh' each claimed one. It should be noted that several seasons were ended prematurely due to the pandemic and the invasion.

At the winter break of the tournament, the leader was 'Shakhtar' with 49 points, ahead of 'Dynamo' (44), 'Carpathians' (38), and 'Kolos' (35). However, in the spring, the situation changed, and 'Dynamo' gained 36 points, winning 12 out of 13 matches, overtaking 'Shakhtar,' which only gained 27 points.

On Wednesday, May 14, in the final of the Ukrainian Football Cup, 'Shakhtar' and 'Dynamo' faced off. The game ended in extra time with a score of 1:1, where the Donetsk team won in a penalty shootout - 6:5. 'Dynamo' lost, while 'Shakhtar' became champions for the 14th time.

It is noteworthy that 'Shakhtar' and 'Dynamo' also participated in the semi-finals of the Cup, where they defeated 'Polissia' and 'Bukovyna,' respectively.

In the final, 'Dynamo' emerged victorious with a score of 4:1, despite the initial failed opening goal by the players of 'Bukovyna.'
