American military shot down its fighter jet over the Red Sea.

As a result of 'friendly fire', an American fighter jet with two pilots was shot down over the Red Sea. This happened when an F/A-18 Super Hornet, based on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, was mistakenly attacked by the USS Gettysburg missile cruiser, which belongs to the same strike group. All pilots survived, but one of them sustained minor injuries.
The U.S. Central Command reported that American forces had previously shot down drones and missiles from the Houthis, which pose a constant threat. In a stressful situation, they likely made a hasty decision that led to this mistake.
According to Associated Press, the downing of the American fighter jet indicates how dangerous the Red Sea corridor has become due to attacks by the Houthis, who are supported by Iran.
It is worth mentioning that the Houthis in Yemen receive support from Iran and are part of the so-called 'axis of resistance' along with Hamas and Hezbollah.
In October, the U.S. struck various parts of Yemen, including the capital Sanaa and the city of Hodeidah. U.S. aircraft and ships attacked weapon systems and Houthi bases, leading to the defeat of their strongholds.
