Airstrike on Kharkiv: consequences of the tragedy
Oleh Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, released updated information on the consequences of the Russian airstrike on Kharkiv that occurred on August 30, 2024. According to the latest data, 5 people were killed in this terrorist attack, including a 14-year-old girl. The number of injured civilians was 40.
According to Synehubov's report, the enemy carried out five airstrikes from the Belgorod region using UMPB D-30 type munitions. The attacks targeted five different locations in the city:
- In the Industrialny district, a 12-story building was damaged, resulting in the deaths of 3 people. Additionally, 5 cars were damaged.
- In the central part of the city, a ground hit was recorded, causing grass to catch fire.
- In another part of the Industrialny district, a minor girl was killed and 4 more people were injured.
- In the Slobidsky district, the enemy hit a warehouse building, injuring 2 people.
- Also in the Slobidsky district, three houses were damaged and 6 people were injured.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to this tragedy by publishing a video of the incident. He emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and called on international partners to provide long-range capabilities and fulfill agreements on air defense. Zelensky stressed that this is "saving lives" and that Ukraine needs to be supported in its defense.
