The draft law on the State Register of Military Personnel took into account the president's comments
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security supported the revised draft law No. 12066 on the creation of the State Register of Military Personnel and the improvement of the military accounting system. The document, adopted in December 2024, was returned by President Zelensky with a veto, so it will be reconsidered by parliament.
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need to protect confidential information:
'Data on the composition of the intelligence services and the Security Service of Ukraine must be classified'. The current version of the law has revealed violations of data processing requirements, which could lead to the leakage of important information.
What does the Register entail?
According to Article 25-1 of the Law 'On Military Duty', the State Register of Military Personnel is a special information system that covers:
- Military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
- Employees of the State Special Transport Service
